The demise of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II
As we woke up on Friday knowing that, for many of us this is the first that we are without our Queen, our sadness should be tempered by memories of the huge contribution she made to the history of our Nation, to the Commonwealth and to the World.
For millions of people she has been the one constant in their lives, a beacon of what is right and example to all who want to live a life of service to their fellow man.
For many leaders of nations she was a wise counsel and for our own Prime Ministers was the one person to whom they had to explain their actions!
Her Majesty the Queen was not born to the job she was given but she made it her own. Her place in history as a great Monarch is assured.
We say goodbye to the second Elizabethan era and welcome Charles the Third. God save the King.
Fantabulous Felixstowe Museum is open!
There’s so much to see and do at the museum this year. Throughout the season you can revisit (or visit?) the 1980s, the decade that brought us the mullet hairstyle, shoulder pads, shell suits, leg warmers, ‘Shaddap You Face’ and ‘The Empire Strike Back’ – and also Felixstowe Museum! We first opened our doors in 1982.
For more information check out this year’s new exhibition, as featured on BBC Look East: Frankie goes to Felixstowe
There’s also a new trail for all the family – The Race for Space – and this will run until the end of October. Our other special events, for children and adults alike, are listed below and to find out about our new exhibitions check out What’s new in ’22?
