What’s on

We kicked off the 2018 season with a fun event for children, the Great Felixstowe Museum Easter Egg hunt, which proved to be as popular as ever. Details of other events planned for the season may be found below.

 

Our evening talks programme will continue until July and resume in October after a two month break. These informative monthly meetings are held at Broadway House (Orwell Road) in conjunction with Felixstowe Family History Society. See below.

 

What’s new in the museum this year?

  • The End of World War I – an exhibition looking at the context of armed forces’ activities in Felixstowe and the surrounding area, and how these affected the lives of local inhabitants. Artefacts, documents, records and photographs tell the story.

  • RAF100 –  Air Cadets from 365 (Felixstowe) Squadron have updated their exhibition to commemorate the founding of the RAF one hundred years ago.

 

Retained for a further year: 

  • the poignant photographic installation by a local photographer honouring the WW1 Fallen named on Felixstowe’s War Memorial. If you haven’t already seen this, do try to come along; it’s on display in the main corridor.

  • our ’60s corner brings back memories of those crazy, colourful years.
