What’s on

Fantabulous Felixstowe Museum is now closed for the winter

There was so much to see and do at the museum this year. Throughout the season we could revisit (or visit?) the 1980s, the decade that brought us the mullet hairstyle, shoulder pads, shell suits, leg warmers, ‘Shaddap You Face’ and ‘The Empire Strike Back’ – and also Felixstowe Museum!  We first opened our doors in 1982.

The office continues to be open during the week for enquiries and research.  Contact us by email or phone to check we’re available.

Our evening talks (in conjunction with the Felixstowe Family History Society) are held at Broadway House in Orwell Rd, Felixstowe.  We meet on the second Wednesday of the month at 7.30pm.    All welcome.

Be sure to check the details below as there may be an option of attending by Zoom depending on the speaker. Please give a week’s notice if you wish to use Zoom.

Felixstowe Museum’s 40th Anniversary Event – let’s get this party started!

Come and celebrate the 40th Anniversary of the wonderful Felixstowe Museum.

‘Get into the groove’… with an 80s disco and live music. Food (pizza, burgers) and drink (mobile bar) to purchase.

Why not come dressed for the decade as your favourite 80s icon?

All welcome. Admission free to the grounds, but normal admission charges for the Museum apply.

The museum opened its doors to the public in 1982 and, over the last 40 years, it has blossomed from a simple one-room exhibition into the award-winning Felixstowe Museum of today.  It is only fitting that we celebrate the dedication and hard work of the early volunteers as well as those of more recent times. Up until March 2021, when we appointed our first paid manager, the museum was managed and run entirely by volunteers!
