Felixstowe Museum is officially accredited by the We’re Good to Go industry standard, given by VisitEngland to businesses that are following industry and Government COVID-19 guidance on cleanliness and social distancing, and have clear processes in place for our volunteers and staff to follow to protect us all.

Felixstowe Museum was the venue for the Mayor of Felixstowe’s Wine and Cheese evening in October 2019. This was well attended by dignitaries and the public alike and a substantial sum was raised for the Mayor’s charities.  A great time was had by all!

The Suffolk Vehicle Enthusiasts Club showed some wonderful vehicles at their 2019 August meet in the museum grounds.  We always enjoy their annual visit as do passers by!

We are now taking part in a new visitor survey initiative, rolled out to museums in this region. Visitor Insight East is organised by SHARE in conjuction with the Norfolk Museums Service with funding from Arts Council England.  To date we’ve  had a great response from our visitors, valuable data and some encouraging comments which have cheered our volunteers.

Suffolk Day 2019 was celebrated at the museum when Cllr Nick Barber raised the new Suffolk flag over the museum.  He was accompanied by the Deputy Mayor, Cllr Mark Jepson, and other councillors.  A musketeer fired a salute to the county.

Cllr Graham Newman, Mayor of Felixstowe, paid us the compliment of opening the museum and our Felixstowe Offshore Radio display on Sunday 21st April 2019.
